Frequently Asked Questions

Q. My dog was tested but the name is not on the list!
A. If your dog or bitch is not shown on the list it could be because the cardiologist has not yet submitted the paperwork. If it has been longer than 90 days, please follow-up with the testing cardiologist.

Q. My dog is listed but the name is incorrectly spelled.
A. Great care is given to ensure the accuracy of all data entered into the database, however, mistakes can and do happen when trying to read hand-written paperwork. Please send an email to b.cattanach@har.mrc.ac.uk and give the dog's full name as listed on the paperwork, the date tested, location, and the cardiologist's name. The database record will be corrected in a timely manner.

Q. How can I get the forms used to submit my dog's heart test?
A. Click here to view the form used when submitting test results. The form is provided by the cardiologist.

Q. Is there a list of participating Cardiologists?
A. Click here to view the list of doctors.

Q. What results can I expect when breeding two dogs that have been tested?
A. Click here to view a graph of a litter's heart murmur, or lack thereof, depending on the grade of each parent.

Q. Where can I find more information about SAS?
