Wendy Wallner, DVM "Dr.
Boxer"
December 8, 1952 -
March 13, 2006
The following are tributes to Wendy, in their own
words, from the many boxer people whose lives she touched…
You are so right she will be greatly missed, not only
by us humans, but by many animals as well. May God be waiting for
her. I am sure that many awaited her at the bridge.
Debi Bedford, Myde Boxers
Oh, Virginia,
We really have lost a great one. :-(
Pat Boyd, Summit Ash Boxers
I have long admired Wendy along with her efforts
on our breed's behalf. Long before grant monies and such, it seems we had
incredible information from her that helped everyone with some of these
horrible mysteries.
I thankfully printed out her holter instructions a
few years ago before her site came down because of her health. I have
used it with every holter and think it is the best pictorial. And again,
put together in a time only a handful people "publicly" were
holtering. Awesome.
I will light a candle for her tonight along with the
ones I light every night for my lost Boxer kids,

The Final Flight
© By Patty L. Hamon
I watched a shooting star
as it raced across the sky.
I was awestruck by its beauty
in the darkness of the night.
Surrounding it like diamonds,
like tiny twinkling lights,
a million shining brothers
witnessing it's flight.
Sometimes in the evening
I will stand outside my door
and admire the peaceful heavens
and I'll glimpse a shooting star.
I'll wonder at its glory
and the nature of all things,
at the silence of its dying
and sweet sadness its death brings.
When the angels look down on us
as we go about our lives,
to them, a fleeting moment
like the shooting stars, we spy,
will our passing go unnoticed
into the darkest night?
Will we be a brilliant beacon,
like that star on it's last flight?
Lord, I want to shine that brightly
and like moths drawn to a flame,
bring others to Your mercy
and honor to Your name.
And when my days are finished
may You look upon my life
like a glorious shooting star
as I take my final flight.
She was one of the brightest.

Marshall & Dorothy Hart, Crossroads Boxers
This is such very sad news, she did so much for our
Boxers’ health...I bow my head to her.....May she be reunited with her
beloved boxers who went before her...
Wendy Morawski, Skidoo Boxers
Our "Dr. Boxer" fought an uphill
battle to the end. She showed us how to face life and death with
courage and dignity. Now she has peace and those of us left behind are
left with profound sorrow at her loss.
Sharon Fosseen, treasurer, ABCF
OH such sad, sad news..... Our hearts and thoughts
and prayers go out to her family and we bow our head in prayer for her tonight.
She will be sadly missed......This truly is a loss for the boxer
world......
Rita Wernette, Birchwood Boxers
Very sad news....cancer is a plague on our
houses....Wendy was a great champion of our breed and worked hard for it.
She will be remembered and I hope that the ABC will find a fitting way to
recognize someone who, without question, deserves lasting recognition.
We so often seem to want to make heroes out of those who are less
deserving.... This time it should be easy.

This is indeed such sad news.
Dr. Wendy, as I used to call her was always a "Lady," a
lover of boxers and willing to help anyone who asked for it. She
gave her boxers her "all," from her vet experience, to the
whelping box, breed ring and even the agility ring. She was a great
friend and fellow boxer enthusiast and we will greatly miss her.
You fought a great battle.
Beverly & Peter Lockwood
Hilldale's Boxers
Dr. Wendy, as many of us knew her, will be especially
missed by those of us new to showing and Boxers. I always looked for
her comments and wisdom. Cancer always does take the best,
doesn't it. I'm sure she'll be with our Boxers and friends at the
"bridge," looking after us from a better place.

Mike and Christina Fleisher
I think we all thought and hoped Wendy would win her
battle with cancer. She fought a brave battle and stood tall in the
process. And in light of all this, her love of Boxers, both her own
and ours, never waned. Her devotion to our Boxers will be truly
missed by all. Those at Rainbow Bridge know the friend they have
greeted and taken under their wings!

WENDY WALLNER
When friends are beset with a trial
Even we who aren't touched feel the pain
Never out of our prayers, we include them
Dear Lord, let me tell You her name.
Yes, it's a lady You know very well
Wendy Wallner, a gal who's given so much
All her life she's been healing and helping,
Lord, she now needs Your healing touch.
Let her know You are right close beside her
Now more than ever hold her tight
Even when life's fears may upset her
Reassure her that You'll make things right.
