| A HUGE "THANK YOU" to all who
attended, donated and/or bid at the American Boxer Charitable Foundation’s
9th Annual Auction in May at the National Show. What a
fantastic group we have supporting the future of our breed. Each year we
wonder how our Auction will do and each year Boxer lovers from all over
the world support us in every fashion imaginable. We have broken records
for attendance and money raised for the past five years! We cannot thank
you enough because YOU are the ones who make us successful.
Last year, we had 128 people buy tickets for the Auction dinner, which
was a new record at that time. This year, 150 bought tickets for the
Auction! A NEW RECORD SHATTERED YET AGAIN! Here are the figures
since I know you have been waiting for them!
Auction 2003 We raised a record-breaking amount of $34,129!
Auction 2004 We raised the bar…a NEW record of $39,376!
And please remember---the AKC Canine Health Foundation matches every
dollar we award in the form of research grants dollar-for-dollar.
Therefore, the impact of this year’s Auction is over $78,500. That, my
friends, is a good amount of research for our Boxers.
The ABCF was presented with a beautiful award at the Auction. All of us
together, as a Foundation, have raised more than $330,000 for health
research for our breed and that is more than any other breed in the world!
It was a beautiful award and I wish that each and every one you could have
been there to see it the award and hear the lovely words. You are
the reason that we exist and that we succeed. Without you it would be
"one hand clapping"--- Lots of energy, but no noise. We have all
earned the right to be noisy about our Foundation and we ask you to join
us in praising our breed and our research. Together we will address the
health issues that our beloved breed faces.
Now I ask that you please be sure and start thinking of what you can
donate next year…and make plans to attend. Now that we know the plusses
and the "issues" of our spacious, wonderful room at the
Drawbridge, we will make changes and it will be smoother and even more
fun. So plan ahead to join us for our 10th Annual ABCF Auction
in 2005!
